26 & 27 weeks

Yikes, my blog has been severely neglected! Blame it on a minor flood in our basement, Thanksgiving, and starting a new job. Time is flying by and belly and baby are growing!

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 10lbs
Maternity clothes? I’m in them on a full time basis! 
Stretch marks?  A few but not too many
Best moment this week:  all the kicks that are getting so strong
Miss anything:   nothing I can think of

Movement:  yep, I think Baby Girl has her schedule all figured out
Food cravings:  back to my standby of cupcakes
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nothing I can think of
Have you started to show yet:  yes
Gender:  GIRL
Labor Signs: Way too early for that
Belly Button in or out? Still in and I’m still shocked!
Wedding rings on or off? I don't know why I put my ring on in the morning, I take it off immediately when I get to work.
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy
Looking forward to:  Getting the nursery done

21 and 22 weeks

Best moment this week:  finding out Baby Fox was a GIRL!
Miss anything:  greasy food, it has been outlawed due to gallbladder issues
Movement:  oh yes I’m feeling some kicks

Baby Fox is a...

That's right we have been blessed with a beautiful baby GIRL!  When the ultrasound started, the tech asked if either of us had a guess.  Steve thought boy and I wasn't sure, so guessed girl.  I was right!  At first it didn't sink in right away, then I started thinking of all the tutus and bows I would be making.  Oh I sure hope she likes bling! The ultrasound was one of the most fascinating experiences in our lives.  The tech started with measuring baby's head, she was shocked with how big baby's head was.  We just laughed!  Come to find out baby is big all around (she even got that belly measured twice).  I was supposed to be 21 weeks and Baby Birl was measuring 22weeks 3days.  We've had several ultrasounds and dates aren't off, so looks like this little sweetie is a grower!  It was so neat to see the tech check over our baby, making sure all bones were accounted for, there were no complications, and we even could see baby had been swallowing.  What a great experience!  

 

Baby Girl also spent a lot of her time hiding from us!  The tech tried so hard to get a nice shot of her face, but she loves her arms by her face so this is the best we have.  I love her little button nose and those adorable little lips!

20 weeks

How far along? 20 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I haven’t weighed myself, waiting for my next dr’s appointment
Maternity clothes? I’m in them on a full time basis! 
Stretch marks? Maybe a few, but not too many
Best moment this week:  feeling baby kick for the first time
Miss anything:  greasy food, it has been outlawed due to gallbladder issues
Movement:  yes and the movement and kicks keep getting stronger
Food cravings:  queso dip, worst thing ever for gallbladder issues, it was not worth it

Guess Baby's Gender

I thought it would be fun to have our family and friends guess baby's gender!  I have posted below some of the common "Old Wives Tales," and what I've been experiencing.  Guess away, we'll find out on November 8th!

Highs & Lows - Look and see if I am carrying baby high or low.  If my bump is high break out the pink, if it's low break out the blue!  You've saw my bump progress, go ahead take a guess!

Be Still My Beating Heart - According to legend, if baby's heartbeat is 140+ beats per minute it indicates girl and below 140 a boy.  At my 17 week appointment baby's heartbeat was 147 beats per minute.

Sweet & Sour - Am I craving ice cream every single day?  If the answer is yes, girl is on the way.  If I am craving salty and sour, prepare for blue.  I have been craving sweet things from day one!  My cravings include:  Skittles, birthday cake, and oranges.

Spot on - If my face is breaking out like crazy blame it on a girl, the legend says girls steal their mother's beauty.  At first I noticed pesky break outs but they have decreased to little blemishes now.

Nice Ring to It - I popped off my wedding ring and tied it to a string.  If it goes back and forth our future is pink, if it swings in a circle prepare for blue.  I tried this test and it went back and forth.

Queasy Does It - Was I sick as a dog during the first trimester or still?  If so prepare for a girl.  Little to no sickness means boy.  I had a pretty easy first trimester until 9 weeks hit then felt quite sick until about 16 weeks.  

Face Shape - If my face has gotten rounder signs point to a girl, if it's long and narrow a boy it is.  I haven't noticed many changes to my face shape, still looks long and narrow to me.

History of Parent's Children - You can find out the sex by going off of my parent’s children and the order.  If I was the first born, I will have what my mother had but starting with her second child.  If I was the middle child, I will have what she said, but starting with the third child.  If I am the last child, I will have what my mother had in the exact order.  Well I am the last child, so signs are pointing to boy.

Dream of Baby's Gender - If I have dreamed baby is a boy that means a girl is on the way.  If I have dreamed baby is a girl that means a boy is on the way.  According to this tale dreams mean the opposite when it comes to gender.  From day 1 I have been dreaming baby is a boy, with beautiful dark hair and curls.

How does Mama Rest - If I'm resting on my left side a boy is on the way, if I'm resting on my right side all signs point to pink.  I normally rest on my right side, of course that is the easiest way to watch TV on the couch!

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: haven’t weighed myself this week, so we’ll go with the 4lbs

Stretch marks? Yep, I’m seeing a few
Best moment this week:  hearing baby’s heartbeat on the home doppler
Miss anything:  my dear Grandmother who passed away at the age of 91, the memories of her will be forever cherished and her love always present
Movement:  not really sure, I think baby might be lazy
Food cravings:  I stick with my favorite, oranges
Anything making you queasy or sick?   I attempted a cheeseburger this week, it went down but I don't care to have other
Have you started to show yet:  yes, indeed
Gender: TBD on November 8^th!

Belly Button in or out?  it's still in, but I don't think it will last for long, it's feeling shallow

18 Weeks

How far along? 18 weeks

Miss anything:  our 3 angels as we remembered them on National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 15th
Movement:  I think there is something more noticeable going on feeling flutters and bubbles
Food cravings:  oranges are still my go to food
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing I can think of right now
